Ok, I don't normally post about cooking experiments (even though I do a lot of them) because, hey, this is supposed to be a costuming journal.

BUT!

I made millionaire's shortbread last night, partially from this recipe and I am so ecstatic about it! I just had to share.

I used to have a Fear of Caramelizing. I have tried so many freakin' times to make caramel and ended up with nothing but a burnt nasty crust in the bottom of my pan. So I was a little nervous to make this, but it turned out so absolutely perfect, I was amazed.

If you have a Fear of Caramelizing, this recipe is for you. I only used the caramel part, I used my own favorite shortbread recipe, and I omitted the salt on top (instead, I stirred the extra salt into the caramel).  Absolute heaven.  I think the best part was scraping the extra caramel off the pot and eating globs of it.

Everybody go make this!!

(wow, two postings from me in one day, I'm shocked.)

A lovely costume meme from [personal profile] sarahbellem.

Costumers all tend to have a specific era or genre that appeals to us aesthetically, which is fine, but sometimes we get too focused and fail to appreciate other eras or genres that might suit our body type, our facial features, or even just challenge us to think outside the box a little bit. So, I'm opening the floor for suggestions: Give me one costume you'd want me to wear, and why. Picture links appreciated. :)

And then spread this meme like SARS and I'll try to do the same for you!
