work, or the lack of it

So I haven't posted in about a week because I've been being such a pathetic loafer.  I don't know why I keep allowing myself to be distracted by dumb crap.  I must be subconciously avoiding something because this morning I found myself thinking about what a good idea it would be to clean the bathroom and all the ceiling fans.  (Normally I hate cleaning and only do it when I am avoiding something or when it is so gross I can't stand it anymore.)  I can't tell what I might be avoiding, though.

I did manage, in the last month, to finish all my mundane summer-everyday-clothes projects and my stays, so I guess that's something.  I also spent almost all day Monday this week cleaning my sewing room and re-organizing my fabric stash.  I have a standing sewing date with my friend Rhea on Mondays, and she took home a big pile of fabrics that I was getting rid of, and started making a corset out of one of them.  (Maybe the thing I was avoiding was wading through the knee-deep piles of fabrics, books, scraps, pattern paper, and other junk littering the sewing room floor!) It felt good to get rid of stuff.

I also started researching the teeny picky specific details of corsets and bustles from around 1872-5 for my state fair project.  They require documentation in the historic costume category and I'm not sure how specific they want, so I'm just going to try to be as specific as possible.

I think since I don't really have any costume events or present-giving times coming up, I'm finding it hard to prioritize all these little projects.  I think the nearest deadline I have is the state fair in august, oh and the dance costumes of course.
