Been working like mad on my new set of modern clothes. Here's what's been going on:
Pants: I used a new pattern, Simplicity's Amzing Fit series, and it was great. The mockup was perfect right off the bat. Then a few things went odd when doing the actual pants, but they're okay. I have the button left to sew on, then another pair to cut out.
Straight skirts: two in the same orange linen/rayon stretch woven. These ended up way too big somehow. I'm not sure why, but they were several inches larger than the pattern pieces. It's possible the stretch element threw me, but it seemed like quite a bit. But they're done.
I've now cut two more skirts in printed linen/cotton (non-stretch) and sewed them to the point of needing hems and waist facings to be done. This pattern is nice because I need just under a yard of 60" wide fabric.
Shirtdress: in a multi-color dot print on dark brown. Cut out, not sewn.
Another dress: large green print accented with green solid. I used another Amazing Fit pattern, which, again, fit really well. Tweaked the mock-up, ready to cut this out.
Knit dress: From some yellow tulip-print jersey I bought ages ago. I'm just going to make a copy of my blue floral knit dress, but since I made that one pretty much on the fly, I have no pattern and need to create one.
I've been pretty good about getting quiet things like pattern drafting, ironing seams, and cutting fabrics done while F is napping, so I can be ready to go when my HB takes over and just run to the machine and sew sew sew for the little time I have. In that way, things are getting done.
