quilt vs. blouse
Feb. 13th, 2012 08:19 amI haven't made it back to my quilt yet, and I'm going to need some serious self-butt-kicking if I want to get it done in any reasonable amount of time.
I really want to skip ahead to the next thing: blouses. I have three printed cotton lawns, a pattern, and a plan to get some silk/cotton sateen for a schmancy version. The pattern I plan to use has gathers at the shoulders that fall over the bust and vertical darts front and back at waist. I was iffy on the gathers, but these fabrics are so soft I think it will work and not look too puffy. Plus if I can keep the waist trim, I think it will work.
I want the silk one for my birthday date on March 1st, but it's doubtful the quilt will be finished in time to do them both sequentially. Maybe if I do a few more blocks, then I can start blouses and come back to the quilt in March.
