I have had a pair of these frames for just about ever, and it never seemed worth the trouble to get them filled with my prescription. I can't do contacts, and since I'm wearing glasses anyway, why bother? Still, it might be a nice touch, and even if they date from the 1860s, surely they would look slightly less anachronistic than my modern plastic ones.
