Please someone tell me I am being crazy

Here are skirt bands take 2.

They look okay, but only after they were totally done (why does it take that long to notice?) I saw how different the angles are from the original. Mine looks long and narrow where the original is wide, plus my side corners are much higher than they ought to be. This is because when I screwed up the first time, I didn't take EVERYTHING out and re-do it, I just moved the side corners back. I wasn't thinking about the overall angles and proportions.

And here's the original for comparison:

I really don't want to rip it out again, and I'm not sure I would even have time before coco if I did want to. But I also don't want to have it bug me forever.

So please, someone tell me I'm talking crazy talk, and to just leave it, okay?

The diamond effect is gone and it looks beautiful! An isolated angle might be different but the overall effect is the same. So, definitely leave it, it looks great!

Crazy talk, seriously. It looks AMAZING and very close to the original.

My first thought was "wow, it looks just like the original!" Leave it and keep on sewing!

I think it's gorgeous and you did a great job getting it really really close to the original using only a photo. :)

Just leave it! I think it looks awesome as it is.

Um, yes, dittos to everyone else. Seriously, this is a very difficult trim pattern. The bands are different widths and *every* angle is different, and the whole relies on the exact construction of the skirt. Yours is actually more even and precise than the original! I think the proportion difference you're seeing is because your skirt is longer. (Or possibly just less full in front, but I think really it's just length.) In order to get the placement of the hem trim correct, the diagonal trim just has to be how it is. It's wonderful!

I think it looks great and I wouldn't notice the difference if you hadn't pointed it out!

Looking at how you've made it and the picture of the original, it looks like some of the difference could be based on your height vs the height of the original owner. I think it looks great as is and you'd be fine leaving it as is. Granted I know I don't have the strongest footing there :)
