Aprons!

2 aprons I made this week:

This one is basically a glorified tool belt.  I plan to use it in the sewing room to keep things like pencils, tape measure, scissors, etc. in so I don't have to keep running around the room to find them.  The blue/brown base fabric is a remnant left from making my shower curtain.

I had originally planned on segmenting the pocket with rows of stitching, but for now I like it the way it is.  It is a little too tight to the apron base, but oh well.

It doesn't hang quite as nicely as I had hoped, but it's just a rectangle, so that's to be expected.

The orange one is for the garden, so I can keep a trowel, seeds, handkerchief, or whatever I need in my pockets and keep a little of the dirt off of me.  There's a hammer loop on the side as well.

I wanted to make the ties a little wider, but I used every thread of a 1/3 yd piece of the stripey fabric, and I chose more length over more width.  The pockets' top edging is the same print as the base fabric in the other apron, but in green.  The orange fabric is a printed canvas.

This one hangs very nicely, thanks to the flared shape and seam shaping.

Yay aprons!
