The Raleigh Tavern book is really more of a pamphlet, only 30 pages. It has original recipes along with modern interpretations.

National Cookery is available for free on Google books, but I got a used copy for 5 bucks on Amazon. For that cheap I'd much rather read the paper copy. It's so much easier. This is the book I took my ice cream recipe from last week.

Oh cool! I've been looking for 18th century and Regency recipes that fall somewhere in between "authentic" and "doable" for person like me with no period cooking experience. That tavern book looks like it might be something that I could manage. I love it when people translate to modern instructions.

You should try it! Although, many of the original recipes make more sense than you might think. The hardest part for me is reading around the long s that looks like an f. I keep wanting to say pafetry.
