I stuffed my balls

This morning we decorated the tree, and I figured it was time to finish stuffing all the balls I knit last month. So I spent an hour in front of a sappy movie with the fam tonight and stuffed these. I got tired of making crochet chains for the hanging loops so I just used a plain strand of yarn. If it breaks, oh well. I am noticing now that I did a few upside down, but only a knitter would notice. ;)
I was overcome by greed and fell in love with each one a little more than the last. It will be hard deciding which ones to keep and which to give away!
Pattern #14, "Xs and Os version 1"

#3 "Snowflakes"

#17 "Selbu"

#7 "Mitten"

#32 "Hospitality: room in the heart"

And, clockwise from top left:
#6 "Eight-petal rose"
#3 "Snowflakes" (again)
#8 "Dovre"
#2 "Frost" (in blue)
#1 "Snow Crystal"

These have been a really great intro to stranded colorwork for me. I only knit right-handed, throwing, and just managed both yarns in the same hand. Mostly I handled the two yarns pretty well, but in a few patterns where every other stitch was a contrast, I got tired of dropping and picking up and used this plastic doohickey to help.

It really did help! But it became uncomfortable to wear after a while and rubbed on my finger. I wish someone would make a nice version of this that isn't just cheap plastic.
And here's the tree just for fun. You might be able to spot a couple of the balls. I hung up more as I finished them.

All the patterns are from the book 55 Christmas Balls to Knit by Arne and Carlos and my Ravelry page for this project is here.
