Purse is done!

When I started the embroidery, I did plan on placing the tree asymmetrically, then I wavered a bit, then finally went ahead with the asymmetry. I really like it that way!

These photos actually show the color more true to life than the previous ones; it's a meduim-bright green somewhere between olive and grass.
The lining is a cotton print with autumn leaves that I've had forever and thought would be fitting. And I like bright print linings on things.

I made one inside pocket. I couldn't wait to put all my things inside (and besides, it adds perspective to the photo).
The inside, during construction:

I interlined the whole body of the purse with really heavy Peltex interfacing. I wanted it to be very firm and boxy. I sandwiched the peltex between the wool and the lining, with right sides out, then sewed the seams up, then covered all the seams with self-bias binding. The thick layers of seam allowances are really stiff and help the purse to maintain its shape (just like I planned! amazing it actually worked).
The flap is interlined with horsehair canvas, as I didn't want it as stiff as the body.
I added the flap and straps last, then finished the top edge with self-bias.
Yay! I'm so happy with my new purse!
